Yemeni girl, 12, dies in painful childbirth

Legislation to a minimum marriage age to 17 violates sharia law, says many Yemanese parliamentarians.

"AMMAN, Jordan (CNN) -- A 12-year-old Yemeni girl, who was forced into marriage, died during a painful childbirth that also killed her baby, a children's rights group said Monday.

The Yemeni parliament tried in February to pass a law, setting the minimum marriage age at 17. But the measure has not reached the president because many parliamentarians argued it violates sharia, or Islamic law, which does not stipulate a minimum age.

After a well-publicized trial, she was granted a divorce.

Ahmadinejad's Imam: Islam Allows Raping, Torturing Prisoners

Ahmadinejad's Imam: Islam Allows Raping, Torturing Prisoners

"According to Iranian pro-democracy sources, the gathered crowd heard from Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi and Ahmadinejad himself regarding the issue", reports Arutz Sheva.

Raping women, men, and teen age boys are permissible. It must be noted too "If the PRISONER is aroused then caution must be taken not to do it again". He didn't say interragator.

Questioners become harder as more instances are made:

"One aspect of these permitted rapes troubled certain questioners: "What if the female prisoner gets pregnant? Is the child considered illegitimate?"

Another question could be asked, "what if the woman gets pregnant and they execute her, did they kill an innocent child?"

Mesbah-Yazdi answered: "The child borne to any weakling [a denigrating term for women - ed.] who is against the Supreme Leader is considered illegitimate, be it a result of rape by her interrogator or through intercourse with her husband, according to the written word in the Koran. However, if the child is raised by the jailer, then the child is considered a legitimate Shi'a Muslim."
